  • Saturday was my last class ever and so I'm done. Now all I need is a
friggin job.  So far the Boston job is still not definite because
they haven't called me yet so I suspect that's a bad sign.

Weekend was eh.  Saw Troy last night and its pretty good. Long,
not very accurate but, good.  I'm looking forward to a week of
nothing and haven't decided if I'm going home this weekend or staying
here.  I've been really anti-going home and I guess its because
its pretty boring over there but there seems to be something
else....some other reason why I don't want to go home.  Don't ask
me what it is, cuz I have no clue.  I think I have that fear of
"release" that prison inmates sometimes have when they're gonna be
released after so many years in their controlled envirornment.
Who knows.  Oh well, let summer officially begin!

  • You know its summer when you have to get the air conditioner out of the
closet(or from the bedroom in my case)and re-install because it's that
hot out. Putting mine back in wasn't as much a pain in the ass this
year. Of course, last year I had to carry it 10 blocks in the ghetto,
take the subway, carry it another few blocks, up the stairs and then
install it.  But nothing beats that feeling when you turn it on
and cold air starts pouring into your face and only a quire group
singing "Hallelujah!" would make it better.  And it's days like
these that I suddenly am happy I haven't moved to Florida.
Honestly though, on days like these where it's 85 degrees and humid,
    who doesn't miss December?

No TKE party tonight due to extenuating circumstances. Oh well.  I
haven't decided if I'm going drinking after work or not. I know I
should but I'm not sure I see a point.

So in case you haven't been a good friend and IM'ed me to hear my news,
there is a halfway decent chance that I'll be getting a job in the
Boston area which means "So long!" to New York.  Of course, me
typing this probably jinxes it but thought I'd mention it so you can
    begin your mourning for me.

And since this is my last entry before summer begins, here's my annual list of things I hope to do this summer:
Swim in Pete's pool, throw any of Pete's siblings into aforementioned
pool, get a fucking job, drag some poor soul with me to Mets/Marlins
games, swim in Ameoba's pool, buy a Delorean, coffee with Ana &
Judith, bar hopping in CT,  see Crystal drunk at least once, keep
up my workout schedule, go to Six Flags, summer fling, hang out with
TJ, see John's new kid, sleep until 3 as much as possible, and
    otherwise have a super time.

  • Life sucks.

Song of the Day: Johnny Cash - Hurt

  • Going to Connecticut this weekend, but only Saturday to Sunday.
I'm going home to watch Nomi and the dog while my parents go down to DC
and move my sister out of her dorm.  I haven't been home in ages
so at least going back in forth on the train wont be that
annoying.  The next time I go home, I'll be a college graudate.
I know, scary.  The idea of graduation has slowly sunk in and I'm
not as scared as I was before.  Well, I'm probably still scared
but I've developed a false sense of hope that is making it easier. But
that's still two weeks away or so.

And if you haven't heard by now, the big news of the week....I have a
hot date tomorrow! With whom?  Janet.  Long story short,
Janet works in admissions at Pace and we had been basically just
friends, saying hi and what not.  Well I worked up the nerve to
ask her out and she accepted. Want more details? Why don't you stop being a closet friend and IM me or something.

Song of the Day: Frank Sinatra - Aint Love A Kick in the Head

  • Concert on Saturday was pretty good. Me and Spock headed up there via
the train, got in line and waited.  When we finally got in, the
seats were pretty good. It was held in the gym but it was very small so
we had a great view. In total, I think 200 or so kids showed up so it
was like your own personal concert.  There were two opening bands,
Pennyroyals and Raination.  First was halfway decent, the second
was terrible. Our problem, however, was we had a train to catch at
midnight because the midnight train was the last one going back to the
city until 6am and we had no desires to be temporary residents of
Pleasantville.  Anywho, Black Eyed Peas didn't take the stage
until 11, so we could only stay for about 20 minutes. We heard Hey Mama
and two other crappy songs.  It was still great and because of the
small crowd they just jumped off stage and did some of the songs on the
floor with us.  Pretty cool.  That guy who is the Wyclef Jean
wanna be was great....he made jokes and was just cool.  And my
love, Stacy Ferguson, contrary to popular belief, is not ugly in real
life.  She's got a great body. Anyway, during the concert we ran
into Marina and her sister.  They were exactly two rows ahead of
us and we all just chilled during the opening acts.

Oh, almost forgot, on this concert I got shot down the worst I've ever
gotten shot down before.  At the concert Marina introduced us to
some of her residents.  Super.  Well on the train ride home
they happened to be in our car.  There were 2 girls and one guy
and the guy and one of the girls obviously were together because they
just ditched the other girl and sat together.  Well Allon goes to
me, "Hey, invite the blonde over here" and so I'm like, "Sure".
So I lean over and ask her to come sit with us since she's alone. She
glances over like I've got a butcher knife and am looking to murder the
first person who looks at me, shakes her head no, and ignores us for
the rest of the train ride.  I'm not sure if that comes off as bad
as it was but rest assured, it was bad.

Anyway, I didn't do much the rest of the weekend.  Slept
mostly.  However, I do believe my parents are planning something
for my graduation.  My mother has told me on numerous occassions
to take off work the week of graduation.  My gut feeling tells me
they're planning a surprise trip.  I mean, why else would I have
to take a week off?  If they were going to buy me something, like
say a car, why would I need a whole week off?  Something's amiss
here.Well, my parents conspiracies aside, I had the end of the year
dinner with the rest of the tour guides.  We went to Little Italy
and ended up spending $300 at one restaurant for dinner and $150 at a
cafe for dessert.  It was great and we ate oh so much.  We
were like beached whales afterwards, unable to move and only groaning,
making whale sounds in an effort to digest faster so we could
move.  It was lots of fun.

Song of the Day: Will Smith - Miami

  • As I went to bed last night I made a startling self discovery; I'm
afraid of summer vacation.  For the first time in my life, I am
not looking forward to summer. I wish my classes would continue
indefinetly.  I yearn for homework, boring classes and dumb
classmates.  As I'm sitting here in my 7 hour saturday class I'm
    compelled to actually enjoy it.

Why? Because in a matter of days I'll be finished with this
semester.  Semester over. Year over. College over. Childhood
over.  That's it. That's all she wrote.  The fat lady
sung.  The eagle has landed.  Fin.  C'est ca.
Denanda.  And summer vacation is just a sentence. A finite time
that is all that standing between me and the reality of having to get a
job or move back home.  The job market sucks. I send out my
resumes to job openings like those guys on the corner give out flyers
for the local strip club.  I just want a fucking job
allready.  One god damned offer for something that I can live
on.  At this point, I don't care if it's in New York, Connecticut,
Florida or Somalia.  I don't know why people are excited to
graduate.  Are they looking forward to working for the better part
of the rest of their lives?  Do they want to be responsible?
Was college so terrible?  I guess the bottom line is.....I'm
    afraid of summer vacation.

  • Is it really that time of year again?  Graudation is upon me and I
have but a few days left of education before I jump head first into the
working world.  What I wouldn't do for a friggin job....

And who has a problem with my xanga picture?  It's a great
picture.  Would you prefer I just leave it bland and
unchanging?  Of course not. The simple fact is you can't get
enough of me. You beg for my xanga table scraps. "No update? But why
Matty?!"  That's right, you love me and I.....I admire your
    persistance

Sort of a busy weekend coming up.  Tomorrow is a TKE BBQ(free
food) in the afternoon, Saturday I have class then going up to
Pleasantville to see Black Eyed Peas.  It looks like I'll be going
with Spock but I may try a last ditch effort to get someone else.
In all likelyhood, it'll be me and him, but you never know.  And
on Sunday there is a tour guide dinner.  Sadly, I think I'll miss
the tours the most.  Fun to do, great people who give them and
most of all, I'll miss all my great jokes.  Ahh, memories.

Song of the Day: Dobie Gray - Drift Away

  • Blah, I don't feel like writing a real entry today.

Song of the Day: Five for Fighting - Superman

  • Pace has finnaly shown signs of being a real college. Of course, it's
showing these signs 2 weeks before I friggin graduate.  They
managed to get Black Eyed Peas to come do a concert at Pleasantville
and I bought tickets. I figured why not?  They were cheap, good
seats and I can name like 4 of their songs...not to mention Stacey
Ferguson is not too bad looking.  The
concert is May 1st and I have a pretty good idea of who I'm going to
ask to go with but hey, feel free to ask to be on my backup list.

Song of the Day: Black Eyed Peas - Where is the Love
