  • Only a few hours until I return to Connecticut now.  My dad is
coming into the city to pickup some parts so he's going to swing by my
work and pick me up.  I'm happy for the ride home if only because
I don't have to lug my suitcase and suit on the train.  It's such
a pain in the ass to haul that stuff around and this morning when I was
coming to work, I wanted to just throw it all away.

I've got the suit because tomorrow I have my job interview in
Boston.  The job doesn't pay very well but at this point, I really
need a job and have limited options.  It's been about two weeks
now and no word from Pratt so I assume that's a no-go.   I really, really, really hate this job searching shit.

Song of the Day: Twisted Sister - We're Not Gonna Take It

  • Was this past weekend like the best weekend, weatherwise, ever?
It was hot enough for shorts but no humidity, a great breeze and high's
in the 70's.  I just opened my windows and that was enough.
Today, however, it's back to the same muggy, crappy weather that is
typical.  Thus far, I think we're in for a bad summer sunshine
wise.  Last summer we had like 5 days where it was sunny AND hot
enough to go to the beach.  This year seems to be along those
lines as well.  My weekend was fairly good.  Saturday I spent
the day with my family for lunch, and then me and my dad went to the
Intrepid and had some beers in Times Square while my mom and sisters
    went to see Wicked on
Broadway.  I'm not one for broadway plays, mostly because I hate
the whole "break into song" thing.  Afterwards I met up with Spock
and we saw Dodgeball and Chronicles of Riddick.  Dodgeball was
funny and worth seeing.  Riddick was boring, dull and dumb.

On Sunday, there was a street fair that stretched the entire length of
7th avenue.  It was easily the largest street fair I've ever seen
(even longer than San Generro).  I went by myself (Sad, eh?)
and bought some funnel cake and lemonade and enjoyed the good
weather.  Yesterday I was pretty much a lush and never left my
apartment.  Anywho, I'm meeting up with Cindy after work and so
I'm pretty excited about that and I'm wearing one of my new JCrew
shirts (courtesy of Spock and is 50% discount) so as long as the rain
finishes up before this evening, things should be good.

Song of the Day: Metisse - Boom Boom Ba

  • Well another weekend is upon us and I'm looking forward to not being
bored out of my mind this weekend.  If the weather improves to be
actually sunny, I think I'll go to the beach, but otherwise I'll be
just doing very little.  Spock wants to go to the movies so we'll
probably be doing alot of that.  Aside from that, I'm free so feel
free to call me and we'll plan something.

My landlord called me yesterday to yell at me about where the rent
money is.  I told him to shut up and it'll get to
him...........okay, so I didn't really say that. I told him it was in
the mail.  I'm so bad with paying the bills. Right now I know my
cable bill, power bill, J.Crew bill and Express bills are waiting for
me to pay them and most are overdue.  I have the money, I'm just
not that excited to part with my money I guess. Plus, I'm uber
    lazy.  I think I need a personal assistant...preferably a nice
    looking girl.

Song of the Day: Creedence Clearwater Revival - Lookin' Out My Back Door

  • If there's one good thing about not being in Connecticut it's the fact
that I'm not bored!  You do get used to it after a while, but you
can only check who's online so many times before the thought of it
really begins to annoy you.  I didn't do much this weekend. I saw
Garfield with Nomi on Saturday and took her to buy these "must have"
    flip flops(Floaties, and if you're 12 years old you'll be a social
outcast without them, evidently) which were being sold at one store
that is like 40 minutes away.  I drove the entire way and then
realized I forgot my wallet so my mom yelled at me.

The other night me, my mom and Nomi rented Stuck on You, which was
halfway decent, and Kill Bill, which wasn't that great in my
opinion.  I like Kill Bill, but everyone made it out to be the
best movie ever. I just think everyone likes the death scenes and such
and all I have to say is sword killings were cool in Gladiator and
haven't gotten all that much more exciting.  Last night me and
Pete rented Club Dread, which I think is a great movie, but I think you
have to have an appreciation for smart ass humor to enjoy movies like
    that (the Pac-Man scene anyone?).

Anywho, I'm back in the city and will be returning to Brooklyn.  I
don't know why but I wasn't sleeping very well at home. Everyday I'd
wake up around 7am and have to toss and turn before being able to go
back to bed.  It was really annoying.  I'll be staying in NY
this weekend so I'll be here for a little while.  Spock wants to
go to the beach but I'm waiting for a sunny AND hot day. Aside from
that, no real plans.  You may carry on with your lives now..

Song of the Day: Kansas - Carry On My Wayward Son

  • Ugh, going home for the weekend.  Home isn't terrible...it's just
terribly boring.  My dad and Emmy are in Israel so I'm basically
going home to help my mom and annoy Naomi so she doesn't bug anyone
else.  Pete is coming back from Israel I think sometime this
weekend, but I'm not too sure.  At any rate, I can look forward to
a boring weekend but at least I brought my Xbox with me this time.

Ugh, why is it I never have anything to write about when I'm at work
but when I'm at home doing nothing, I come up with 50 different things
I could write about on Xanga.  I went to Yoro's the other night
with Cindy for the first time in a long time.  I had a self
imposed ban there after an incident a few months ago.  Let me
paint a picture for you [cue dream sequence music]  So like, a few
months ago I was at Yoros with Ameoba et al.  and we were drinking
(Ed. note: Drinking alot) and the bartender, Carl, helps our tabs out
by reducing them signifigantly.  And because he brings our tab
down, we usually give him a pretty good tip.  Well he brought my
tab down from somewhere in the $80 range to low sixties.  The only
problem was, I had like no money.  So I tell Carl, "Look, I'm low
on cash but I'll get you next time."  Well he starts going off on
me, lecturing me on how he helps me out and this is the tip I give
him.  So from that point on, I wasn't gonna spend a dollar in that
place seeing as all those times I had brought myself, my family and
friends there and spent a whole lot of money and this was the kind of
response I got.  Anyway, coming back to the present day, I heard
Carl quit and I decided to go back.  I didn't return to the
bar...we just sat a table.  Babysteps, you know?

Song of the Day: Rick Springfield - Love's Allright Tonight

  • Weekend was pretty good. Saw both Marlins games and had a great
time.  Marlins lost the first game but won on the second
game.  Pictures from both games can be found here.  Aside from that, I spent alot of time doing nothing....it was great.

I had a job interview today at Pratt.  It went fairly well, but
there's still another round or two left so nothing tangible to know
yet.  I've got another interview later in the month for the boston
job but that job pays jack shit so I'd much rather prefer the Pratt
    job.  We shall see.

Song of the Day: A-ha - Sun Always Shines On TV

  • I'm super excited for today....Marlins game at Shea, GREAT seats and
A.J. Burnett is coming off the disabled list and making his
start.  I've got my Marlins jersey, Marlins hat and Marlins
umbrella(you never know) ready to go.  No, I didn't wear all that
to work, I've got it in a bag and ready to go.  I haven't decided
    if I'm going down to Duane Reed to get some posterboard for a sign yet;
let's see how into it I am later on. I brought the camera so you all
can see what an ass I make of myself.

My weekend plans are pretty open thus far.  I got an evite to get
drunk tomorrow(you know it's special when you get an evite) and I've
got the other Marlins game on Saturday.  Aside from that, I'm
looking forward to sleeping in, playing some xbox and otherwise doing
very little.  Weather is great right now so it looks to be a good
weekend. Oh yea, pictures from my Disney trip can be found here.

Song of the Day: Bon Jovi - Keep The Faith

  • I'm baaaaaack!  Back from sunny(and friggin overly hot)
Florida.  It was a pretty good trip, but then again, is there such
thing as a bad trip to the sunshine state? I didn't think so.
Pictures will be up in my photo album soon but in the meantime, take a
gander at some pics from graduation taken by my dad.  These pics
    can be found at here.

Speaking of graduation, it's was boring but not terribly bad.  Our
guest speakers were Senator Chuck Schumer and playwrite Tony
Kushner.  Both were pretty good but Schumer, a professional
bullshitter, was a bit better.  I wasn't that nervous and it went
by pretty quickly.  But when it came time for the Business school
to get called up, my dad called me and we decided to leave rather than
sit through like 3000 people I don't really care about.
Afterwards we went to an italian place called Pescatore over on 2nd
avenue for lunch.  All in all, a good day.

This weekend I'm going to at least 2 Marlins games when they play the
Mets. I've had tickets for Saturday for a long time but am buying
tickets this afternoon from a dude off craigslist for the Thursday game
because one of their pitchers who is coming of the disabled list is
making his debut thursday.  So the real question is who wants to
go with me?  Did I mention these seats get waiter service and
    diamond club treatment?

Song of the Day: Frank Sinatra - New York, New York

  • Guess who's going to Florida?!
    That's right, I'm going down....on Wednesday! Here's what
happened.  I met my parents for lunch yesterday and we ate in
Chinatown.  At the end of dinner, the waiter brings the fortune
cookies at which point my dad gathers them all up and distributes
them.  If you know my dad, you'd know that its pretty normal for
him to be....not normal.  Anyway, I get my cookie and I open it up
and there's two lines of text.  First line says, "Your greatest wish will come true".  So I'm thinking "Sweet! I'm getting laid tonight"
Then I read the next line and it says, "You're going to Disney
World".  Now, without thinking I'm ready to show my parents what a
great fortune cookie I got and then after they're all giggling and not
looking at their cookies, I figure out what's going on.  I had the
biggest dumb look on my face.  I think I had mentioned earlier
that I suspected a trip might be planned but over the last few weeks
things really didn't look all that promising for one so they got me
good.  We leave Wednesday and come back on Sunday.  Needless
    to say, I'm psyched.

How psyched, you ask?  Psyched enough to go waxing for the first time today!
Okay, breathe in, breathe out.  Feel better?  Good.  So
yes, I went waxing.  And no, no Brazilian wax for me.  I was
just looking to get rid of the "summer sweater", if you know what I
mean.  I went to a place in the village and it was all russians
working there.  This little old russian lady "did me" and she said
how proud she was of me for not crying.  Let me tell you, it hurt.
Alot.  And now I've got a dull pain all over.  I'm happy I
did it and will be even happier when I'm down in the sun, whip off my
shirt and start slow-mo running, Baywatch style.

Song of the Day: Go-Go's - Vacation

  • T-minus 5 days until graduation....I just want it to be over with
because I'm sick of it allready.  Everyone asks the same stupid
questions and is all excited for you even though I hate it.  And
the ceremony is just dumb.  Three hours or so just so I can get my
5-10 seconds of "fame" when someone reads my name off a card that I
hand to them to which I recieve a piece of paper telling me where and
when to pick up my real diploma.

Congrats to John on the birth of his new daughter.  Riley Ann was
born at 4am this morning and both her and mother are doing well. I
talked to him last night and he was exhausted but I think he was happy
and all.  They're off to a good start.
