  • Today is my last day in my apartment. My dad's coming to get the last
of the stuff today and then it's finito. Some good news, I got the call
back for the job interview at University of New Haven.  Needless
to say, I'm psyched about it.  I would love to be able to get this
job so cross your fingers, cross your legs, braid your hair or whatever
you need to do to ensure my good luck in getting the job.

Song of the Day: Mary Hopkin - Those Were The Days

  • It sucks being sick.  Worst part about being sick is the delirous
dreams you have when you try to sleep.  I don't know if it's just
me, but when I'm sick and try to sleep at night, I have this repetitive
dreams about nothing.  It gets real annoying.  Nevermind the
aches and pains or that general blah feeling.

  • I can't make this stuff up:

  • Today is my last day at work.  It seems kind of weird to think
that I've been working here since the beginning of 2001. I remember the
job interview and vaguely remember my first few days.  This job
really has been a good one.  I've been lucky to have had this
opportunity and not have had to work in some crappy retail job, like
    Old Navy or Blockbuster.    My
bosses have been pretty nice to me today, which is somewhat
surprising.  At any rate, it's been a good ride and I can't wait
    to get my next job.

For those who don't know(shame on you), I'll be moving back to
Connecticut fully sometime in the next week or so.  My parents are
coming in this weekend to move out most of my stuff.  So if you're
gonna be looking for me, I'll be in the land of trees and boredom for
the foreseeable future.  However, just as MacArthur said after
being forced to leave the Phillipines by the Japanese, "I shall
    return!".

Song of the Day: Simon & Garfunkel - Homeward Bound

  • Am I the only one unimpressed by people who gloat about getting a tan
in the summertime?  To me, getting a tan in the summer is like
buying fresh vegetables from a farmer....it's not that
surprising.  I think it's far more of an acomplishment if you get
a tan in the winter time after a trip somewhere because most people
can't get tan.  But in the summertime, all you have to do is go
outside and it just doesn't waurrant the "Oooohs" and "Aaaahs" some
people would like you to believe it does.  Who knows, maybe I'm
    just being  stupid about this.

Song of the Day: Peter Pan - You Can Fly

  • I gave my two week notice to work this week.  It's been pointed
out to me by someone else that it's not really much of a two week
notice considering that I only work one day a week.  I guess it's
more of a two work sessions notice or something.  I want to be
done with work by mid August so I can just focus on getting out of my
apartment and stuff.  I'm not looking forward to moving out,
mostly due to the fact I hate moving out.  It always seems like
there's 5 tons of crap and there's always something else that needs to
be moved out.  Of course the fact that I'm leaving New York and
returning to Connecticut should be bothersome but I haven't decided if
I'm upset about it or not.  Obviously there's more going on here
in the city, friends from college and well, it's the city.  But by
going back home I'll be saving a buttload of money by living at home
    for a while. Honestly, I don't care where I live...New York or
Connecticut, I just want to be hired allready.  Yesterday I had a
job interview at the University of New Haven and it's another great job
so I'm at the mercy right now of whoever makes the hiring
decision.  Everyone always asks me how the job interviews go and
honestly, if I get the job, then the interview went well. Otherwise, I
wasted an hour of my life telling someone else why I'm great but
clearly didn't do that great a job.  I guess you can say I'm
    having employment angst.

At any rate, no plans per say this weekend.  I'm hoping I can
motivate myself to go out tomorrow night. We'll have to see and wait it
    out I guess.

Song of the Day: Frank Sinatra - Fly Me To The Moon

  • Well it certainly has been a while since my last post.  Yesterday
I was at the taping for Conan O'Brien with my sister.  It was
great.  This was my second time seeing Conan live and it was just
really, really funny. I watched the episode last night and I'm clearly
visible when they come back from commercial break right before they
bring out Mark Conseulos(or however you spell Kelly Ripa's husband's
name).  I also made a catcall to Natalie Portman but you really
can't hear it that well.  It was alot of fun and I had some extra
tickets but some of you people need to learn how to return phone calls.

On Monday I had a job interview at Ziff-Davis and at the risk of
jinxing myself(Oh fuck it, I highly doubt my ramblings on xanga.com has
any impact on the decision to hire me or not) and let me say I would
give up many of my own testicles to get hired there.  It's like
the epitome of where I want to work.  The interview went well, I
suppose, but at this point I'm expecting more not to be hired than to
be hired. My only other job interview that I have scheduled at this
point is at the World of Disney store on 5th avenue later this
month.  Yo quiero a fucking job!

And last but not least, I'm reading a book! On my own! And it's a real
book! Not a tour guide book or something dumb.  It's the memoirs
    of Benito Mussolini.  Very interesting.

Song of the Day: Police - Roxanne

  • A word of warning, don't buy saltless peanuts because you think you
won't be as thirsty if you eat those.  Saltless peanuts just taste
like ass.  Anyway, not much to write because not much is
happening.  John might be coming up on Thursday for the night so
that would be cool.  I'm going back to Connecticuton Friday and
have a job interview at Guilford Savings Bank which I have about a 3%
change of actually getting this job.  Speaking of jobs, I have an
interview in August for a position at the World of Disney store on 5th
avenue.  I wish I could say this was a decent paying job but it's
part time and it's retail.  Hopefully something else will come up.

Song of the Day: Elvis Presley - A Fool Such As I

  • Here's the pics from last night's game, which was one of the best games
I've been to.  It was alot of fun and if you turned down an invite
from me to go, you missed out   So anyway, here's the pics:

  • One Marlins game down, one to go.  Last night's game was
great.  Marlins were losing for most of the game and we slowly
made our comeback as the game progressed.   So fast forward
to the ninth inning and we take the lead off their closer.  And
then in the bottom of the ninth, we bring in our pitcher and shut the
door for the win.  It was great.  Everyone around me heckled
me for being a Marlins fan and then at the end, it was I with the last
laugh.  I'm looking forward to tonight's game, although our
prospect's don't look that good as our starting pitcher is a callup
from the minors and their pitcher has been awesome at Shea.
Anywho, pictures from last night's game can be found at http://pictures.hochmania.com/view_album.php?set_albumName=album07
